Safe on Wheels: Bikes, Blades and Boards:
The front of the wheel includes eight frequently asked sections of information to help children obtain the knowledge they need to be a safe rider:
- Why is Wheel Safety Important?
- Do I Need a Helmet?
- What Should I Wear?
- Where Can I Ride?
- Common Distraction

- Obeying Traffic Laws
- Ride Right
Know Your Hand Signals!
The back of the wheel safety information wheel includes an illustration of the four hands signals every rider should know when riding a bike. First is the stop signal. The rider should hold their left arm bent downward to indicate they are about to stop. Next is the turn left signal, where the rider should hold their left arm straight to indicate they are about to turn left. Finally is the turn right signal. The rider can either hold their left arm bent upwards, or hold their right arm out straight, to indicate they are turning right.
