It is recommended for use by anyone who is untrained in traditional CPR and sees a person suddenly collapse.
Hands only CPR has been proven just as effective as conventional CPR for cardiac arrest at home, at work, or in public. It can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival.
Step 1 – Call 9-1-1. Either your or another person on the scene call 9-1-1 and give them your location, ask for an ambulance and that you have a collapsed victim. Explains to always follow the instructions of the dispatcher.
Step 2 – Push the chest. Explains the proper way to give chest compressions to an adult or teenaged victim.
The tips section gives additional information and tips on how to properly give hands only CPR.
In conclusion, the handout relays the message that “Immediate Response Can Double A Person’s Chance of Survival.”
